El hoy periodista y ex-secretario de Estado de Comunicación, Miguel Ángel Rodríguez ha manifestado con toda rotundidad, y en al menos dos medios de comunicación distintos, que: “los españoles seguimos sin saber qué grupo terrorista puso a Zapatero en la Moncloa”.
Estas declaraciones, por no llamarlas de otra manera, me parecen totalmente fuera de lugar y más viniendo de este señor, que en su momento ejerció un cargo público de responsabilidad política. ¿Son estos comportamientos y aptitudes propios de aquellos que dicen que respetan la sentencia del 11-M y que por tanto hay que mirar al futuro? La respuesta esta clara. Hasta las elecciones del marzo este país va a seguir oliendo a vertedero y continuaremos escuchando toda sarta de alegatos y barbaridades de aquellos que no aceptan que se equivocaron gravemente.
Sin ponerme a la altura del Sr. Rodríguez, pues me considero una persona sensata y medianamente inteligente, sólo le diría que en una democracia los terroristas no ponen ni quitan gobiernos sino el libre y personal ejercicio del derecho al voto, derecho que es el “arma” principal de una democracia. Si por su utilización, se nos puede llamar terroristas, yo estoy encantado de serlo y conmigo, me imagino, más de 10 millones de personas. Lo mejor de este arma, tan peligrosa para algunos, es que ayuda a sanear el ambiente cuando huele mal y los únicos muertos que produce son muertos políticos, aunque algunos logren convertirse en zombis para seguir en primera plana de la actualidad.
Afortunadamente, en poco tiempo podremos volver a usar tan mortífera herramienta y espero que ayude a desterrar definitivamente a los artífices de tanta barbaridad y crispación.

The former Spokesperson during the Aznar government and now journalist, Miguel Ángel Rodríguez, has declared in at least two media outlets, that: "the Spanish public still doesn’t know which terrorist group put Zapatero in office".
These statements, if that’s how they can be described, are totally out of place - even more so coming from an individual who held a public position with political responsibilities. Are these the acts and attitudes characteristic of a group who claim to respect the verdict of the 11-M trial and, consequently, that it is now time to move on? The answer is very clear. Until the next presidential election in March of 2008, this country will be rank with politics and we will be hearing all kind of diatribes and rants from those who have never acknowledged that they made serious mistakes.
Without sinking to Mr. Rodriguez’s level, because I consider myself both very sensible and intelligent person, I would like to tell him that in a democracy terrorists can neither install nor depose governments, because this can only be done by the free and individual right to vote, a right that is the main weapon in a democracy. If by using it, they call us terrorists, I’m glad to be one – myself and more than 10 million others. What is best about this weapon, considered so dangerous by many, is that it helps to clean the environment when the stench gets too great and the only deaths it causes are those of political careers, although some manage to become zombies in order to continue in the spotlight of the political scenario.
Fortunately, in a few months we will be able to once again use this lethal tool and I hope it will help to put a definitive end to the architects of this dialectical barbarism and confrontation.

Es comprensible que los familiares de las victimas del 11-M tengan sentimientos encontrados al conocerse la sentencia del tribunal que ha juzgado el caso y que la satisfacción con la sentencia no sea completa del todo. Mi plena solidaridad, como creo que la de la mayoría de los españoles, está con todos ellos.
No obstante, el hecho que se haya producido la absolución de algunos de los imputados, especialmente de Rabei Osman, conocido como "Mohamed El Egipcio", sirve, no guste o no tal decisión, para fortalecer la sentencia y al Estado de Derecho, aunque algunos lo utilicen como el gran titular de la sentencia con el único objetivo de seguir alimentando sus oníricas conspiraciones.
En un Estado de Derecho, la justicia se imparte sobre los hechos que puedan ser probados y no por los sentimientos que esos hechos puedan producir, por mucho que esos sentimientos estén a flor de piel en la ciudadanía. Si no hay pruebas concluyentes para decir quien o quienes fueron los autores intelectuales de la matanza, la ley sólo puede actuar de la manera que lo ha hecho. Este hecho desde mi punto de vista aporta mayor valor a la sentencia. Representa un escrupuloso respeto al Estado de Derecho que, por un lado, no puede condenar a uno de los supuestos autores intelectuales por falta de pruebas claras, pero por otro lado deja meridianamente claro y probado la responsabilidad de los autores materiales de los atentados, incluidos los suicidas de la localidad madrileña de Leganés, desvincula, sin genero de dudas y para disgusto de algunos, a la banda terrorista ETA de cualquier relación con la matanza y desmonta una por una todas y cada una de las confabulaciones generadas a los largo de estos años por ciertos sectores mediáticos y políticos.
Las responsabilidades jurídicas de los terroristas ya han sido depuradas. La verdad judicial ha quedado establecida. En mi opinión ahora falta depurar otro tipo de responsabilidades. Las de aquellos que a través de una pluma, un micrófono o un escaño de diputado han contribuido durante todos este tiempo a crear un ambiente irrespirable en este país, diciendo toda sarta de barbaridades y gravísimas acusaciones y poniendo en tela de juicio una y otra vez lo que hoy ha quedado judicialmente, y repito judicialmente, probado y sentenciado.

It’s understandable that the families of the victims of 11-M have mixed emotions upon hearing the sentences handed down by the tribunal and that their satisfaction is bitter sweet. My sympathy, and I believe that of the majority of the Spanish public, is with all of them.
Nevertheless, the fact that some of those implicated were absolved of the charges, especially Rabei Osman, also Known as ¨Mohamed El Egipcio¨, serves, whether you like the decision or not, to strengthen the sentencing and the Rule of Law, although some would use it as a headline with the only objective of furthering their invented conspiracy theories.
Under Rule of Law, justice is based on probative facts and not the resultant emotions that these facts may produce, however high those emotions may be running within the populace. If conclusive proof as to who or whom were the intellectual authors of the massacre, the law can only act in the way that it has. This fact, from my point of view, gives even more weight to the sentence. It reflects a scrupulous respect for the Rule of Law, that, on one hand cannot condemn one of the supposed leaders for lack of evidence, but on the other hand it makes abundantly clear and demonstrable who were the principal actors involved, including those who committed suicide rather than be captured in Leganés, a suburb of Madrid, and furthermore removes, without a shadow of a doubt and to the chagrin of some, the involvement of the terrorist group ETA in the massacre and once and for all dismantles the rampant speculations of certain political and media figures over the last three years.
The terrorists have now been sentenced to pay for their crimes. The legal truth has been established. In my opinion, it is now left to assign a different type of culpability, that of those who, whether using a pen, a microphone, or a congressional vote have during all this time, created a suffocating political atmosphere in this country, propagating grave accusations and insults and denying, again and again, what has today been legally established, and I emphasize, legally proved and pronounced in a court of law.
