Soy ateo porque no creo en dios* ¿Perogrullo verdad?
Está bien, ampliemos el concepto. Soy ateo porque no permito que nadie me diga para qué existo y lo que debo de hacer, porque pienso y confío en mi fortaleza. Soy ateo porque soy un ser racional y no puedo concebir que mi vida esté guiada por planteamientos y dogmas irracionales. Soy ateo porque no puede ser que los que sufran sean siempre los mismos. Soy ateo porque si existiera dios no creo que fuera tan incompetente para haber creado un mundo tan inhumano y desagradable. Soy ateo porque si existiera dios no permitiría que determinadas cosas se hagan en su nombre. Soy ateo porque la sola existencia de dios en un mundo tan injusto, me revuelve las tripas. Soy ateo porque no concibo que en el nombre de dios se justifiquen atrocidades. Soy ateo porque la religión obstaculiza el progreso y atrasa a los pueblos, manteniéndoles en un estado de coma perpetuo. ¡Soy ateo porque creo en la libertad!

* Considero la palabra dios como sustantivo común y por tanto en minúscula

Why am I an atheist?

I am an atheist because I am a rational individual and I can’t conceive my life guided by irrational approaches and dogmas. I am an atheist because it is not fair that the ones who suffer are always the sameI am an atheist because if god exists I don’t think he would be so incompetent to have created this inhuman and unpleasant world. I am an atheist because if god exists he wouldn’t allow so many inhuman acts to be done in his name. I am an atheist because the sole existence of god in this unfair world, just makes me sick. I am an atheist because I can’t conceive that atrocities are justified in the name of god. I am an atheist because religion is a hinderance to the progress and development of the people, keeping them in a condition of perpetual coma. I am an atheist because I believe in freedom!
