Maquiavelismo Democrático

No se puede consentir, bajo ningún concepto, que un partido haya ganado las elecciones generales, prometiendo durante la campaña electoral hacer todo lo contrario de lo que realmente está haciendo en el gobierno. En mi opinión, no se puede consentir, que dicho gobierno pueda seguir gobernando impunemente.

¡Es por lo menos indignante!

La democracia ha sido vilmente manipulada y, lo que es peor, seguimos callados y sin reaccionar. Muchos de los ciudadanos de este país han sido maquiavélicamente utilizados por este gobierno como plataforma para llegar al poder.

Está claro que El PP, hoy en el gobierno, representa fielmente las enseñanzas de Maquiavelo: “El fin justifica los medios”.

Lógicamente, el fin estaba claro: llegar al poder y para ello los medios utilizados no importaban. En este caso la política de acoso y derribo contra el gobierno socialista junto a la mentira sistemática utilizada en campaña electoral, han sido, como digo, los principales medios para alcanzar sus fines.

Es de todos conocidos que durante años, el actual partido en el gobierno, entonces en la oposición, se dedicó a hacer una oposición demoledora contra el entonces Presidente Zapatero, anteponiendo claramente sus intereses electorales frente los intereses nacionales del país. Durante este tiempo, no apoyaron en ningún momento, ni siquiera en los momentos económicos más críticos, al gobierno socialista en su lucha contra la crisis económica, aplicando la premisa: “cuanto peor le vaya al gobierno socialista, mejor para mis intereses políticos” (aunque se hunda España)”. Lo curioso de todo es que las medidas que el gobierno socialista promovía eran claramente conservadoras y antisociales (impropias de un gobierno de izquierdas) y aunque contaban con el apoyo de los conservadores europeos, aquí en España, el PP las tildaba de medidas negativas e improvisadas. Es obvio que el PP, en su fuero interno, estaba de acuerdo con muchas de estas medidas pero no podían permitirse el lujo, electoralmente hablando, de mostrar el mínimo apoyo a un gobierno que le pudiera perjudicar en su objetivo de desgaste, entendido como el medio para acceder al fin deseado: el poder.

La consigna estaba clara: Al enemigo ni agua. Eso sí, en este plan no estaban solos. Contaban con el apoyo de su fiel infantería, siempre inasequible al desaliento: la prensa conservadora; esa prensa que tampoco concedió un momento de respiro a Zapatero y a sus medidas, mientras que ahora, ensalza a Rajoy como nuevo líder espiritual de occidente , jaleando sus medidas como necesarias y valientes para salvar a la patria.

A parte de ello, y dentro de esta maquiavelica visión de la política, la colección de donde-dije-digos-digo-diegos que han ido acumulando desde la campaña electoral a nuestros días, es, por lo menos, sonrojante.

Primero empezaron asegurando que no se quejarían de la herencia recibida. Así lo indicó Rajoy en campaña el 09/11/2011. Pues bien, una vez en el gobierno todo lo achacan a la herencia recibida. Es más, se nos dice que entre sus planes no entraba muchas de las medidas que están tomando pero la herencia recibida les obliga a tomarla. ¿Pero es que se creen que somos tontos? Empiezo a pensar que sí, pues de lo contrario no me lo explico. En política se suelen dejar 100 días de cortesía a un nuevo gobierno. Pues bien, pasados eso cien días, dejen ya de marear la perdiz con la herencia recibida. Los nuevos parados ya no son de Zapatero. ¡Son suyos! y suya es también la prima de riesgo, el déficit, la bolsa de valores, el Ibex, Repsol y hasta Angela Merkel. La situación económica actual es ya su responsabilidad. ¡Dejen de echar balones fuera!. Ustedes decían que lo que necesitaba España era confianza y eso sólo se podía conseguir con un cambio de gobierno. Pues bien ese cambio de gobierno ya se ha producido. Todo lo que hizo Zapatero, para bien o para mal, ya ha sido juzgado en las urnas . Por tanto, ¡dejen de lamentarse de una vez!.

En campaña dijeron que no iban a subir los impuestos. Sin embargo la primera medida que tomaron una vez en el gobierno fue la subida del IRPF.




En campaña dijeron que no abaratarían el despido. Un vez en el gobierno aprobaron la reforma laboral más lesiva para los derechos de los trabajadores, incluyendo, entre otras medidas muy negativas, el abaratamiento del despido a 20 días



En campaña dijeron que no eran partidarios del copago Sanitario. Sin embargo acaban de aprobar recortes en Sanidad por importe de 7000.000.000€ incluyendo el copago farmacéutico.



Criticaron en muchas ocasiones la posibilidad de una amnistía fiscal y una vez en el gobierno la han aprobado.



Hasta el propio Presidente Rajoy hace personalmente lo contrario a lo que dijo que haría:

Mariano Rajoy, 10 de enero de 2012: “Aquí hay un presidente del Gobierno que va a dar la cara, que no se va a esconder ante la crisis económica”.



Mariano Rajoy hace unos dias en el Congreso da la callada y estampida por respuesta. ¡Escandaloso!




y así podríamos seguir con muchos ejemplos de este maquiavelismo disfrazadamente democrático:

“El Gobierno paga su ineficacia con los pensionistas, los más débiles”



“La reforma sanitaria en ningún caso perjudicará a los ciudadanos"



“Los pensionistas no tienen la culpa de los disparates del Gobierno”



Creo que es hora de reaccionar. Las medidas de este gobierno están poniendo en cuestión pilares básicos de nuestra sociedad hasta ahora intocables. Lo peor de todo es que lo que lleva generaciones conseguir, se pierde en segundos a golpe de reforma y posiblemente no lo recuperemos nunca.

Democratic Machiavelism

It is not acceptable, under any circumstances that a political party, such as the Popular Party (PP), wins a general election by promising during its electoral campaign the opposite that it does, once in office. In my opinion, it cannot be tolerated that said government continue governing with such impunity.
It is at least outrageous!

In my opinion, democracy has been vilely manipulated and, what it is worse, we, the citizens, keep quiet and without reacting at all.  Many citizens of this country have been used by this new government in a Machiavellian way as a tool to achieve power.

It is clear that the Popular Party, currently the governing party, represents Machiavelo´s teachings very accurately: "The end justifies the means"

It is obvious that the end was clear: to come to power and to achieve that, the means were not important. On this occasion, the harassment against the Socialist Government along with all the lies used during the electoral campaign, have been the means to achieve the end.

Everyone knows that during these past years, and before winning the General Elections on 2011, the PP dedicated all its effort on a devastating opposition against President Zapatero, putting its own electoral interest before the country national interest. During all this period, it did not show any support, not even in the worse economic moments, to the Socialist Government, struggled with the economic situation.  It preferred to be loyal to its Machiavellian position: “the worse it gets for the Socialist government, the better for my political interest (No matter Spain gets collapsed)”.  Ironically, the economic measurements taken by the Socialist Government were clearly conservatives and antisocial (being those improper for a leftist Government). However, and although they were applauded by the European conservatives, the PP considered them very negatives and improvised. It is obvious that the PP, at least in private, had to agreed with some of these measurements but it could not afford, electorally speaking, to show the slightest support on them, support that could affect its main weakening goal that was conceived as a mean to a desired end: The power.

The instructions were clear: “To the enemy, not even water”.  Furthermore, the PP was not alone on this objective. It counted with the support of its loyal infantry, always faithful and ready: the conservative media; those who also did not give any break either to Zapatero and/or any of his economic measurements, while now, on the contrary, they praise Rajoy as the new spiritual Western leader, cheering on all his decisions that are now considered needed and very brave to save our country.

Besides that, and continuing with this Machiavellian political vision, the amount of lies the PP has been accumulating since its electoral campaign until now, when it has come to power, are, at least, embarrassing. 

First, it begun assuring that it would never complain about the bad legacy left by its predecessor in government, the Socialist. However, since it is in office, it keeps saying that all the measurements have to be taken as a result of the legacy received. Even more, it even said that it had not planned them but it has been forced to take them because of the legacy. Does the PP think we are stupid? I seriously believe it does because I do not have any other explanation.

In politics, and as a gesture of courtesy, it is normal to give 100 days of latitude to any new government. Now, those days are over for this new government. Consequently, stop annoying us with the same drivel!.  The newly unemployed are not  Zapateros´s fault anymore. The unemployed, the risk premium, the stock exchange market, IBEX,  Repsol and even  Angela Merkel are all the PP´s problem now. The current economic situation overall is its responsibility. Stop blaming others!; The PP used to say that everything would change with just one word: trust and the only way to obtain it, was by changing the government. Well, the government has already been changed. Everything carried out by Zapatero, no matter it was good or bad, has been already judged by the voters. Consequently, stop complaining!

Before the General Election the PP said it was opposed to any tax increase.  However, the first economic measurement taken once it took power was increasing taxes.

Before the General Election it said it was not in favor of any labor bill that could lay off workers easier and cheaper than before. However, once in office, it passed the most harmful labor bill against worker´s rights, including maximum lay-off payments to just 20days .

Before the General Election, it said it was not in favor of applying any co-payment in the Public Health System. However, it just approved cuts on it in the amount of 7.000.000.000€, including approving a pharmaceutical co-payment.

It criticized on many occasions the possibility of a fiscal amnesty, and once in office, it approved it. 

Even President Rajoy does personally the opposite to what he said he would do. Mariano Rajoy on January 10th, 2012 said: "I will be a President that will face the problems, a President who will never hide himself as a result the Economic crisis". However, a few days ago,  after a difficult economic week and with the risk premmium to its maximun level, everyone could see how he scaped using the rear door of the Congress to avoid the media.  

And we could continue on and on with many examples of this machiavellian stile that has been dressed with a democratic disguise.

 Finally, I believe it is time to react. The decisions made by this government are questioning the basic pillars of our society, pillars that were never under question before.  What worries me is that what it takes several generations to achieve, can be easily lost by decree in a matter of seconds, and it is possible that we will never recover it again.
